VIEWS

 

Below are our views on several widely debated issues. Donists choose these positions based on what Don told our religion’s founders, including the moral codes and core beliefs.

 

We respect what others think about these issues, but we firmly believe that Don expects us all to share these views if we want to reach the afterlife.

 

LGBTQ

 

Donists fully accept members of the LGBTQ community. There is no proper way to love, aside from loving the Universe, or Don. We do not discriminate against anyone, whether it is by sex, age. sexual orientation, ethnicity, etc.

ANIMALS

 

Donists believe:

  • Don created animals just as the humans were created.

  • they are meant for our consumption and use because we are the central beings of the universe.

  • since animals are part of the universe and the environment, we must treat them with respect.

  • Animals are also given certain tasks on earth while they are alive, but humans only know what humans are supposed to do.

  • animals also have an opportunity to go to the afterlife because they are also living creatures.

ABORTION

 

  • not prohibited

  • choice is completely up to the mother/carrier of the child.

  • encouraged if carrier does not have the necessary resources to raise a child

PEOPLE OF DONISM
 

ROLES OF MEN AND WOMEN:

 

We view men and women as equals; both have the potential to work strongly in whatever they may excel at. While gender roles still exist in society, Donism strongly discourages abiding by them, as they fundamentally restrict the overall productivity of a society. 

 

 

CAREER PATHS:

 

We understand not all people can excel in the workforce at the same thing; for that reason, we devised a system of working that is individually based.

 

  • At age five, children are sent to a basic religious school in which they are taught everything about Donism.

  • By age thirteen, a child’s future role in society is decided. This is the work they will be anchored to for life, for it is the field in which they excel.
