Meet the Founders:

Obim Okeke

In the fall of 2190, Obim Okeke was chosen to play for Stanford’s college basketball team, being named the the top point guard in the nation. His success as the next greatest baller on the planet was due to his overwhelming dedication and good work ethic in and out of the sport.

Unfortunately, in college, all the stress got to him and he started making bad choices, like using steroids, so he was kicked off the team and expelled from school. Okeke ended up on the streets begging for food, hoping that there was something out there to save him.

Don changed Obim’s life by giving him new friends and an opportunity to prove his character. He was no longer lonely and hopeless. Donism gave him a home, food, clothes, and a loving community. Obim finally felt like his life was back on track and and that he belonged somewhere. In overwhelming gratitude to Don, he dedicated himself to Donism.

Since his conversion, Okeke has easily converted others because of his natural appeal and his inspirational story that resonates with all. He speaks at major religious events and demonstrates diligence as a leading force responsible for converting millions every year.

Shatheed Wilson

Shatheed Wilson grew up learning to always treat others equally and respectfully. She gave up on her ambitions to be a model and chose to give back to those who were suffering. She established several foundations to combat hunger. While it seemed hopeless, she knew in her heart that change was possible.

Donism changed Shatheed’s life because it gave her the opportunity to make a difference and to spread hope worldwide. Donism became Shatheed’s means of expressing the importance of faith, even when hope doesn’t seem to exist.

Since her conversion, Shatheed has been the brains of the entire operation. She monitors every committee and ensures all the values of Donism are upheld. Shatheed’s influence is immense because of her innovation and organization. She hopes, with her tireless administrating and organizing, everyone has the potential to benefit from Donism.

Clara Chapkis

Clara is also an individual who knows the meaning of dedication and effort. She grew up in a middle-class family, yet was able to become the world’s greatest politician and businesswoman. However, she was widely regarded as unrealistic because of her concern with complicated problems like global warming and world hunger. Unfortunately, because of her inability to gain enough supporters for her plans, she faced constant setbacks in embarking to solve these global problems. Still, Clara persevered.

Don changed Clara’s life because she finally had what she needed to accomplish her goal of making the world a better place; Obim’s charisma and Shatheed’s drive. She had big plans and finally felt, with Don, that she could achieve them.

Since her conversion, Clara has made significant changes as the head of the Change the World Institute, founded and administered by Donists. This Institute controls many of the organizations supported and funded by Donists, such as Leaves for Change that supports protection and revival of the environment (see website heading Leaves for Change to learn more).

Through Clara’s outstanding leadership and desire to make a difference, Donists can be more active in both global issues and the religious community.

Why These Three Needed Each Other:

Obim Okeke would never have been able to pull himself off the streets without the care from Shatheed and the resources from Clara. Shatheed was the brains of Donism and knew exactly how to combat the problems in the world. The only problem was, she didn’t know how to get the money and power to make major changes. Finally, Clara lacked appeal and approachive-ness that Obim Okeke, being from a lower social class and having been through more, had. Through him, she was able to gain enough followers to truly push for change as a political and financial elite.

Meet the First Converts:

Lily Johnson

Lily is Shatheed’s friend who criticized others for still believing that there was hope for the future. She grew up seeing the world as hopelessly declining, and always thought religion a distraction from the real global problems.

Her process of conversion was in one impactful night. She had had a long discussion with the three founders, at the end of which, she was still ambivalent about joining Donism. That same night, she looked up at the stars and briefly saw a star turn blue. This was a sign from Don, and her orb, that followed all the stories the three converts had been telling her.

At that moment, she knew that she had been wrong all her life; she realized religions do not distract, rather, can incentivize people to truly make a difference in global issues.

Despite her previous misgivings, she has become a loyal Donist. Lily has made major contributions to the community as an assistant to Obim and a vocal proponent of the faith. Together, she and Obim use their inspirational stories to motivate others all around the globe.

Stove Stoven

Stove was a man who had lost much hope in himself after experiencing a sequential humiliating divorce and demotion at work, leaving him vulnerable and desperate. He truly wanted to keep faith, but had no reason to do so.

Stove went on a spiritual adventure with Obim through which he experienced the Donist lifestyle. You can follow his journey on the Rituals/Holidays page HERE.

Stove was deeply inspired and became an active member of the religious society as the Administrator of International Donist Communities.Stove became fascinated by how every ritual and holiday had a purpose for bettering the Earth and wanted to spread the good of Donism throughout the world. He currently sets up major religious events, especially during the holidays and connects Donists across the globe.
